Simparica is a prescription medication that provides fast-acting systemic protection against fleas, ticks, mites, and ear mites in dogs 8 weeks of age and older. This chewable tablet requires a prescription from one of our licensed Canadian veterinarians, who will determine the correct dosage for your dog's weight before we deliver it to your home. With Simparica, you get reliable parasite protection in a single, palatable monthly dose.
Simparica contains sarolaner, an active ingredient that works by blocking GABA- and glutamate-activated chloride channels in parasites' nervous systems, causing rapid elimination. Fleas are killed in less than 8 hours and ticks in less than 12 hours, providing quick relief for your dog. This chewable tablet effectively treats and controls tick infestations with Ixodes scapularis (black-legged tick), Dermacentor variabilis (American dog tick), Amblyomma americanum (lone star tick), Amblyomma maculatum (Gulf Coast tick), and Rhipicephalus sanguineus (brown dog tick) for one month. Simparica can also be used as part of treatment for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
